Well there are worse ways to spend your money. The guy is right, why buy a stupid Mercedes when audio equipment brings so much more enjoyment.
On the other hand, I think one can get 85 % of their experience out of a system for 2.000 $. All it really needs is your determination to enjoy what your system can provide you with, instead of searching for the holy grail forever. If one has no sense for music and no musical imagination, a system for 200.000 $ won't buy that imagination either.

It's the most satisfying hobby I have tried. It's like a mental massage to listen to your favorite music and just melt in your chair. It really helps with stress too.

Great film Ken - really enjoyed it and also very funny - you've caught the wry humour and the compulsive obsessive aspect of this hobby in the grip of the high end owners. I am a keen audiophile but happily not in their league - though i sold a hi fi item to an Athens Club member last year so it was very interesting to see the environment it went into and to see one of my customers on film!
