With the holidays approaching, Compudio Gadget Reviews has again composed a list of top 10 gift ideas for those who still need some inspirations on their Christmas shopping list. This guide is 100% geek-friendly!
Gadget Number 10:
Creative SoundBlaster X-fi Notebook
The recently released SoundBlaster X-fi Notebook soundcard is the sucessor to the older Xtreme Audio version. Besides a new look, the new version also features wireless transmitting capability (only compatible with Creative receivers). The X-fi Notebook soundcard will give a significant boost to your notebook's sound quality while having minimal interference.
Gadget Number 9:
Sharp-Willcom D4 UMPC
Running Vista on a machine no bigger than the size of a large candy bar? Say what?! That's right, not only that, Sharp's D4 UMPC is also a smartphone! While the D4 is able to handle operations within Vista fairly well, its video playback, especially HD capability, is rather limited. Moreover, the D4's battery life is significantly short, which is ashamed considering the device is intended for mobile purposes.
Gadget Number 8:
Guitar Hero - World Tour
Those who own a new-generation gaming console would probably know the recently released Guitar Hero World Tour Band Kit. With its reconfigured guitar for easier access and the redesigned drumset which now includes two cymbals, the band experience will be brought to a whole new level. If you still have not owned Guitar Hero, this holiday would probably be a good time to lay your hands on it!
Gadget Number 7:
ASUS EEEPC 901
Whether it is taking note in class or surfing the web in a WIFI spot, a netbook is your best companion. With the increasing popularity in netbooks and their widening availability on the market, you are probably wondering which manufacturer offers the best choice. Compudio Gadget Reviews has compared most of the available netbooks on the market and has decided that right now, ASUS's EEEPC 901 is the best choice!
Gadget Number 6:
UltimateEars Super.fi 5 In-Ear-Monitors
A few months ago, we reviewed the Super.fi 5 IEM from UltimateEars. At the time, we gave the earphones an Editors' Choice Award. Today, we are still so impressed with them that we decided to put them in our 2008 Holiday Gift Guide. Truly, for the price, the new Super.fi 5 from UE can hardly be beaten.
Gadget Number 5:
Sony XEL-1 OLED TV
If you are looking to be dazzled this holiday, then you would have to take a look at the world's first OLED TV from Sony. The XEL-1 Organic TV Panel is unbelievably thin, 3mm in thickness to be precise. With exceptionally sharp picture quality and elegant design, the XEL-1 leads way to the start of a new TV panel era. Unfortunately, the screen is only 11" and the MSR price is at $2500. But if you are looking to burn some cash, this TV will truly flatter you.
Gadget Number 4:
WD TV HD Media Player
Western Digital is a company that never fails to impress. Just plug a conventional external hard drive into WD's TV HD Player, and you will be able to watch full resolution HD videos on your TV. The best part is, the HD Player only costs a bit over $100.
Gadget Number 3:
Dell M109S DLP Projector
Ever thought about having a mobile TV that has a screen up to the size of 60 inches? You will be amazed by the new LED DLP projectors technology. With a size no bigger than the length of your palm, mini LED projectors give out images in amazing quality. From our research, if you are looking for the highest quality mini mobile projector, then Dell's M109S will not disappoint you.
Gadget Number 2:
Canon G10 IS Camera
There is no better way to capture the precious memory of the holidays than to capture it with a good camera. Canon's G10 is arguably the best compact camera available on the market. Bolstering a 14.7 Megapixel, a fantastic lens, and the ability to do RAW, the Canon G10 is truly a prosumer camera packed into a consumer size. What is more, falling prices on the camera only makes the deal even sweeter.
Gadget Number 1:
Archos 5 PMP Tablet
If you are a multimedia fanatic and spend a lot of time on the road, you will want an Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet. The Archos 5 is probably one of the best portal multimedia players on the market. With a beautiful finish, well laid out touchscreen user interface, exceptional codec compatibility for both audio and video (including HD), DVR capability, and a WIFI-enabled internet feature, the Archos 5 is truly the Cadillac of PMPs. The only downside, however, is that Archos did not include accessories necessary for the player to output to TV or to record. Furthermore, users have to pay extra for the player's HD codec. Despite the company's move to cut down initial cost, the player itself is still a beautiful, well-designed, and powerful device, and I'd be more than happy to receive one for Christmas.
The Archos 5 is also available in 7" (Archos 7).
Good luck with your shopping and have a wonderful holiday!
