Sennheiser MX W1 | Bringing dream to life, in a quality style

Ever dreamed of using earbuds without the annoying cords? Wireless headphones have been available in the market for a long time now, but they're often quite unuseful for those who dislike the limitation of headband. There have always been ideas and rumours about earbuds that are truly "wireless." RCA designed one, but the earbuds are only compatible with its own MP3 player, which is, to say the least, terrible in sound quality. At this year's CES 2008, Sennheiser revealed its version of truly uncompressed wireless earbuds that fully utilize Kleer transmission technology through 2.4Ghz Wi-fi.

The Sennheiser MX W1 functions like today's wireless headphones, with 2 wireless earbuds and a wireless adapter that can be connected through 3.5mm audio jack to all MP3 players. The MX W1 look elegantly geeky, with an easy to use twist-to-fit design exclusively from Sennheiser. The earbuds will also work without the adapter, if your MP3 player is equipped with Kleer wireless technology.

At Compudio Gadget, we're extremely excited to hear such news. We believe the sound quality from these earbuds will be exceptional, simply because they're from a company that's famous for its well-engineered sound products, well exemplified in Sennheiser's headphone product lines. However, the popularity of W1 will be solely dependent upon its price.

The MX W1 will be available in the U.S. around May 2008. MSRP has not been officially announced, but online sources are indicating a price between $500 to $600.
