Every year in Canada, hearing loss is the fastest growing and the most common chronic condition affecting individuals at nearly any age. The main cause: over exposure to external noise ranging from rock concerts to white earbuds on exploding volume levels. We simply couldn't let the problem slip by anymore. Save the Hearing is what we have come up with.

What is Save the Hearing?
Save the Hearing is a new focus that we have created to better help individuals be aware of their hearing. As the main cause of hearing loss is due to over exposure of noise, we have created this program to raise awareness and garner support for this concern.

Why was Save the Hearing created??
Over the past several years, overall hearing loss in North America has gone up by 50%. Breaking the number down, that's a 280% increase from the 12% of children between the age of 7 - 9, and a 400% increase from the 15% of adolescents between the age of 13-14. Nearly $20 billion dollars are used towards services and products to correct hearing every year. Knowing the continuing number of children being affected and the significant impact hearing damage can have on body growth and education, we simply had to create Save the Hearing campaign.

How does Save the Hearing work?
Save the Hearing works in several different ways. For readers, headphones/earphones reviews starting from Nov 22, 2010 will include a brand new score based on how well the product isolates or cancels external noise while producing music at low volumes. The product is ranked between 1 and 5, where 5 is the best score.
For manufacturers, every product that is sent to us for review, we will donate $5 CAD to the Hearing Foundation of Canada.

Want to help more? Not a problem! simply donate towards the Hearing Foundation of Canada! For individuals or manufacturers making a $30 or more of donation, we will let the community know that you have been a strong supporter in the program by adding your name onto our list of "VIP's" for the public.

When does Save the Hearing begin and end?
Save the Hearing will begin on November 22, 2010. Save the Hearing is a new initiative in progress. As a result, the program will go through a 6 month trial period. Compudio strives to establish this cause as our focus and continuing program. As Compudio is a non-profit company, we are always looking for sponsors to keep our lights on to better serve the community.
